FRANK APESECHE

Frank Apeseche is a long standing faculty member of the Harvard University Graduate School of Design. His research interests target how innovation, strategy, and capital formation influence enterprise performance. His courses include Advanced Real Estate Finance and Development, Building and Leading Real Estate Enterprises and Entrepreneurship, Real Estate Private Equity, and Environment Economics and Enterprise. Frank is also part of the senior faculty team of Harvard’s Advanced Management Development program, and formerly was acting Co-Director of both Harvard’s Real Estate Academic Initiative and the GSD’s MDes program in real estate.

Frank’s practice focuses on developing successful real estate institutions. Over the past three decades he served as Chief Executive Officer of two national corporations, Treasurer of two NYSE REITS, and a Board member of sixteen additional companies. He also led the real estate operations of two family offices and helped develop and structure a first time family office.

Frank is currently Chairman of Amstar, an international real estate private equity firm. Additionally, he is a member of the Board of Directors of Launchpad Venture Group where he specializes in financing disruptive growth companies in the real estate proptech and cleantech industries. Previously he was Chief Executive Officer of The Berkshire Group. During his twenty six years at Berkshire Frank helped launch and grow more than a half dozen subsidiaries in the multifamily, long-term care, hospitality, real estate private equity, and mortgage finance industries. He subsequently took three companies public on the NYSE, sold another enterprise to Deutsche Bank AG, and then created Berkshire’s U.S. institutional advisor, which grew to a $10 billion, discretionary AUM business. Frank received his BA from Cornell University and his MBA from the University of Michigan.
